Based on the MBA model of case study evaluation, we work through a wide range of alternatives with the goal of finding the recommendation that is most financially sound and also fits with the client’s lifestyle, risk tolerance, and personal beliefs. Many planners use software systems to run evaluations and produce fancy looking financial plans, full of colorful charts. While these plans come in a nice package, we have found from experience that they are oft-times lacking in analysis. That’s why every W.J. Schade Financial Services, LLC financial plan is custom written and developed for each client, complete with not only a detailed outline of our recommended course of action, but also several alternatives that may also be suitable to the client’s needs. To us, this detailed analysis of each client’s unique situation allows us to make more meaningful recommendations than simply running numbers through financial software, or using the basic rules of thumb that so many rely on.
Our financial planning process starts with a brief telephone call where we ascertain the basic parameters of the potential client’s planning needs, identify the documents and information to be brought to our first consultation, and schedule the initial, no-cost, no-obligation consultation. During our first consultation we further discuss the scope of the planning to be performed, as well as attempt to determine the client’s needs, wants, and goals. If the client chooses to proceed after the initial consultation, we work to develop a customized financial plan to meet the client’s requirements. During this time, we may contact the client should additional information or documentation be required. After our financial plan is developed, we meet with the client to discuss the alternatives and recommendations set forth, as well as to set into action any part of the plan that W.J. Schade Financial Services, LLC may be managing (such as long term asset management). As the financial planning relationship continues, we work closely with our clients to ensure that our planning and management maintains a high level of responsiveness to changes in their financial needs.
